What is Marine Engineering?

Marine engineers design, test and improve the machinery and equipment used at sea – everything from propulsion machinery and electrical equipment to refrigeration, air conditioning, cargo handling and domestic services equipment.

They may also work with pressure vessels, automated control systems, organic pumping or mooring systems, pipelines, dockyards, port and harbour operations, equipment for offshore oil rigs and platforms.
