“My proudest achievement has been my role in building ideas* into the company it is today, particularly by supporting the emergence of our young but highly talented engineering team,” says Mike.
As an engineer, Mike and his ideas* team have the privilege of working across a wide variety of industries and projects. One innovative project which comes to mind is Future Spark – a unique, self-funded project where they created a people-powered trailer that generated enough electricity to power a rock concert.
More than 1400 people joined in at the first event, generating enough power for a three-hour rock concert, which was held in front of 6000 people at Federation Square in Melbourne, during Earth Hour 2009.
“The event and trailer raised significant awareness of energy usage and the associated environmental impact; and continues to push its message through ongoing school excursions, and appearances at other events, most notably the recent 2010 Big Day Out Festivals across Australia,” he says.
