Patrick Campbell

Engineering Technologist Patrick Campbell was recently awarded the title of 'Engineering Technologist of the Year' in the 2010 Australian Engineering Excellence Awards.

He is the founder and director of Adelaide-based BCA Engineers.

Established in 2008 with business partner Nathan Brown, the firm has experienced rapid growth and now employs 19 staff and boasts an annual turnover of more than $2 million. Not bad given the world was in the grip of a financial crisis during the start-up phase.

BCA Engineers has since secured $300 million worth of construction projects in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Major projects for Patrick and his team include Amcor G3. This industrial project included a third furnace and a new glass bottle manufacturing line, for which Patrick did the electrical engineering design. His company also has an ongoing involvement in the upgrade of Alice Springs Hospital.

Patrick is committed to working with local communities and students. His firm recently developed a work experience program aimed at high school students interested in a career in the industry.
