Angel

The A$1.6 billion Angel project successfully delivered the largest not-normally-manned (NNM) gas processing platform in Australia. It is believed to be the most complex, highest production, glycol dehydration NNM facility in the world, with state-of-the-art environmental monitoring.

Angel was completed safely, on time and under budget.

Positioned 120 km offshore of Karratha in about 80 m of water, the platform is powered and remotely controlled via a subsea cable from the North Rankin A platform 50 km away. It is supplied by three large bore subsea production wells, which more than meet the topsides’ production capacity of 800 million cubic feet of gas and 50,000 barrels of condensate a day.

The project was a winner in the 2009 Australian Engineering Excellence Awards.
